Fall of Leaves Poetry

Angel of Stone

A man once told me
he wished for unicorns
I wish for painless dreams.

For wings,
of bitterness and pain
to lift me,
but they weigh me down.
A fallen angel
I'm drowning
but I can't let go.
no,
I won't let go.

All things are possible,
but It doesn't seem so,
at the bottom of sorrow
watching bubbles of opportunity
pass me by
for the better stuff
of the surface.
They cannot help me now;
as I wait
for the past to change,
so I
can breathe again,
please...
